Description
Villa number 8 is a very spacious 3BR/3BA penthouse unit spread out over 3 floors (floors 2, 3, and 4 of the building). The master bedroom and 2nd bedroom are located on the lower level along with their own private bathrooms. The floorplan of the master bedroom is unique (circular) and spacious. It has double french doors leading out to an extensive private terrace that overlooks the tropical courtyard. A marble covered kitchenette wraps around one wall under a large bank of windows, providing the option of a cozy breakfast in bed. The oversized, marble jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom is great for a late night soak.
The second level contains the 3rd bedroom, 3rd bathroom, kitchen, and living room. The kitchen is very nicely equipped with high-end stainless steel appliances imported from the US. In addition to the main appiances, you will find the cabinets well stocked with dishes, blenders, and the like.
The living room is circular shaped (like the master bedroom below) and covered with a dramatic one-and-a-half story teepee shaped grass thatch palapa roof. Don't be fooled -- it is very strong (withstood a direct hit category 5 hurricane) and very chic. A cozy loft extends out about a third of the way over the living room. Like the master bedroom below, there are double french doors leading out to an extensive terrace overlooking the central courtyard and pool.
On the rooftop level, you will find another large terrace equipped with a custom jacuzzi. As with the two terraces on the lower floors, this terrace is equipped with good quality teak patio furniture.
After a late night of carousing, you may find it relaxing to settle in with a nice DVD. Unit 8 has a large library of 150+ DVDs at your disposal. There are high quality DVD/TV setups in the living room, master bedroom, and 2nd bedroom -- so the gang can split up to watch their own thing, or gather around in the living room.
Another special feature of this villa is the extensive data wiring put in during construction. Cat5 (internet) wiring is extensive throughout, with 3 or 4 data outlets in every room. Just plug your laptop in wherever it suits you or else connect to unit eight's own private wireless network. Leave your laptop at home if you like and use the PC that is provided in the living room. A voice-over-IP telephony system that operates over the high speed internet connection is also in place. The computer and internet services are provided free of charge on an "as available" basis (meaning that telecommunications services in Mexico are sometimes spotty). This includes free long distance calling to the US and Canada over the voice-over-IP system.
